A Spring Break Flashback...
I've been meaning to do this for some time, but all kinds of things kept cropping up. They've now uncropped, so I'll get to it...
Over Spring Break, we all took a trip to the Dallas Farmers' Market. It was a lovely morning and we got a parking spot right in front of the sign.
The Farmers' Market is a nice little tourist spot, but the prices on fruits and vegetables ain't so bad, neither. While there are some people who bring in their produce from out in the country, there are others that just get it all from a wholesaler. Still, it's beautiful on a spring morning:
And, yes, those were AWESOME tomatoes...
The stand operators will almost hurl fruits at passers-by in order to sell their wares. We sampled a little of everything and then came back to the stands that had the best-tasting stuff. That was fun.
Just be sure to not buy more than you can eat in a few days. You don't want to get crazy, buy a ton of produce, and then not be able to finish it off. If your stay here in Dallas is short, don't get more than you can finish before you can get to the airport. If you live here, it'll be open again when you run out of fruit. Take it easy and you'll have a blast.
Nearby, there's a nice little Mexican restaurant where you can enjoy a tasty and affordable lunch after a nice morning of shopping. The weather was wonderful, so we dined al fresco and had some great enchiladas.
A good time was had by all, and then we took off to hit Dealey Plaza and see the sights there. Some crazy stuff awaited us...
