Enter the Fab Four

When the Beatles first made it big in 1961, it wasn't long before the Beatles turned to animated GIFs to both accelerate as well as ease their skyrocket to stardom. Whereas the boys from Liverpool themselves could not be everywhere at once, their likenesses in an animated GIF could both be ubiquitous and everywhere. Furthermore, while fans could shred the hapless Beatles in seconds, animated GIFs proved far more resistant to the degradations of ravenous "Beatlemaniacs" and were used in many of the Beatles' public appearances. It is a little-known fact, for example, that it was actually an animated GIF of the Beatles that played the famous concert at Shea Stadium, not the actual Beatles themselves. The promoters could not insure the level of security John, Paul, George, and Ringo demanded and so it was their expendable, animated versions that appeared instead.

Nowadays, it is common for many entertainers to use animated GIFs for their routine concert appearances, allowing them much more time to concentrate on staying one step ahead of the law, their ex-es, papparazzi, or their adoring, but often brutal, fans. (Animated GIF FACT: the entire 1981 season of Saturday Night Live was one long animated GIF after another! Betcha didn't even notice!)

Today, many in the entertainment world turn to the benefits of animated GIFs to make their lives a little easier. We even have a little taste for what the future has in store for us: animated GIFs themselves are becoming united with their users. No one more clearly illustrates this than does the -colorful- Dennis Rodman.
