MAKE OVERS: SIMON

A friend of mine, Simon (his real name, but only the first bit), sent this photo along and wondered what I could do with it. Well, I don't mean to insult him, but there's a lot I can do with this one. It's a very... honest photo in rough light, which means it's far too realistic to be glamourous, even though there's nothing wrong with him at all.

OK, I'll take the head and make it into a new layer so I can give that background the once-over. That background HAS to go. It is just wrong. But before that, I'll airbrush and all... like so:

Phew. Getting the shine off his skin makes such a good difference. OK, now for the background:

There we go. MUCH more dramatic with that background. Now, some lighting to go with his expression to add a proper level of drama, and...
